Chisago City food and nutrition service directors, school administrators and staff, farmers, and other active with school food and gardeners are just some of the participants coming to the Farm to School workshop:

  • WHEN:  Wednesday, February 3, 1-3 p.m.
  • WHERE: ZOOM
  • AGENDA

This winter’s workshop will feature schools and farmers who are working together to supply kids with fresh, healthy food. In doing so, they also open a door to teach kids about the benefits of healthy eating and about where their food comes from. And while it sounds like a marriage made in heaven, the realities of making farm to cafeteria work are challenging. That’s why, in addition to panel discussions that include food service directors, farmers, and other experts – the event includes time for farmers and buyers to get to know each other and each other’s needs and opportunities.

This event is focused on building Farm to School connections and skills and is open to people who are involved with community food and farming issues, especially local farmers, food service professionals, and other businesses who wish to purchase local foods, from restaurants to long-term care facilities to early care settings.

Professional standard hours are available for school nutrition staff.
