Sharing innovative and inspiring stories of people “renewing the countryside” is a cornerstone of our work.

We have collected over 250 stories of rural renewal that are searchable through this website. Many of the stories have been included in a series of books we helped to publish, including books in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Washington, and the Four Corners region of the Southwest.

Inspiration can also be found on the Community of a Plate blog. Started by a group of interns in 2009, this blog follows plates of food from farm to table  – documenting in pictures and words the people involved along the way.
