While our initial focus was sharing inspiring stories, we longed to do more. A logical next step was building connections that nurture the growth of sustainable rural communities.

Our work in this area has included developing Green Routes – a directory of places to eat, play, shop, sleep, learn and move that travelers can use to find destinations that share their values of sustainability and community.  

Grow a Farmer is a recent project that is raising funds to support farmers who face financial in obstacles in starting or expanding their ability to grow food.

We also make connections through fun, educational events that raise awareness and interest in these issues – like the Healthy Local Foods part of the EcoExperience at the Minnesota State Fair and the local foods stage at the Living Green Expo.
