Do you know what businesses and industries the dollars in your 401K or Roth IRA go to support? Would you prefer to invest in Main Street rather than Wall Street? What if you could invest in your local farmer, bakery, or brewery?  New loan funds, investment clubs, and crowdfunding sites are among a group of emerging mechanisms which grant everyday people (i.e. unaccredited investors) access to local investment options. We will detail examples of homegrown investment mechanisms and inform fairgoers how they can get involved in this creative approach to local investment.
