Farm to Child Care is designed to establish lifelong healthy eating behaviors in children 0-5 years old by strengthening connections with where and how food is grown, and is flexible and relevant in all communities - rural, urban, and suburban. Hands-on training for child care providers on how to source local foods, prepare quick, healthy, and safe meals and snacks for children, begin to incorporate farm and garden concepts and activities into the curriculum, and understand the importance of purchasing local foods for childhood health and community vitality.

This hands-on training is relevant to all early care and education settings, including but not limited to child care center staff and family child care providers, and is approved through the Minnesota Center for Professional Development for up to 5 in-service hours.
