The smells and colors of fall are in the air, which means it's also time for fall fruits and festivities: apple cider and donuts anyone? Pumpkin carving and warm pumpkin pie? Garlic planting? Embrace this snow-free (albeit chilly) weather and get out before the snow falls. Read on to learn about fun fall and Halloween events on the farm.

Crow River Winery: Corn Maze and Live Music!

Corn Maze: Open daily! 11am-6pm. Admission: Kids $5, Adults $8. Stay late on October 29th for a Haunted Maze (16+) from 6:30pm-10pm. More information HERE!

Seasonal Recipe: Velvety Yam Soup

The Minnesota Homegrown Cookbook celebrates the best of Minnesota foods with 100 local recipes from 38 local chefs, and restaurants, using fresh ingredients from local farms and markets. Cook up this warm and seasonal Velvety Yam Soup from the cookbook! This recipe comes from the Saint Peter Food Co-op, and uses leeks, sweet potatoes, broth, dill, cream, and half&half. Calendar - Apples, Pumpkins, Garlic galore!

Looking for more ways to celebrate all things fall? Get your hands dirty and help to plant garlic at The Women's Environmental Institute. Stop by the farm to learn about how to grow garlic, and be part of the planting process. Free lunch to all volunteers. October 26th through 30th at 9am.

Celebrate the end of the outdoor season. Shop the bounty of squash, root vegetables, artisan cheeses, and so much more! Plus, any trick-or-treaters who come to the market's information booth will receive a free $2 token to spend on fruits or veggies at the market!
